Firefly Squids in Toyama Bay, Japan

The Firefly Squid (Watasenia scintillans) is a species of squid that exhibit bioluminescence. Each tentacle has a photophore that produces light to attract small fish to feed on. A large number of these squid reside in Toyama Bay, Japan where they are commercially fished.
